In the period of 12th - 13th March, the Japanese company delegation (including for example representatives of Crosspartners, Daikin Airconditioning, I-Media Japan, Marubeni Corporation, KPMG, Nomura Research Institute Europe, Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Europe and Toyota Motor Europe) organised with the assistance of the JETRO Prague met a number of Czech stakeholders to explore opportunities of further cooperation in the South Moravian region and City of Brno.
Among others also Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce, INDUSTRY CLUSTER 4.0 and the Engineering Test Institute (SZU) were involved in their meeting schedule. Michal Dvoracek, Head of Foreign Cooperation Department, presented them main mission of this testing and certification body, which operates not only in the EU but also in other markets of the world. SZU key customers come also from Japan, for which SZU performs specific measurements and certifications, especially in the field of heat technology.
The overall number of 250 Japanese companies has decided to open their offices, manufacturing plants or R&D facilities in the Czech Republic. #brnoregion is the Czech #1 in investments in science. According to the Czech Statistical Office 3.8 per cent of GNP is spent on research. The massive funding is reflected in the increase of researchers in businesses. In long term, Brno succeeds in getting investments in research, development and strategic services such as software development. The region is attractive for companies investing in engineering, electrotechnical and electronic industries as well as IT.
